MF Jones was founded by Moe Jones in 1979 and immediately began working on projects across Thunder Bay. Initially focusing on painting and drywall, the company was quickly recognized for the quality of their work and began working with contractors and architects from around the area. Some of those initial projects include Zellers, Province of Ontario, the Blue Parrot, MacMillan Bloedel, Red Oak Inn, and Confederation College. 

Known throughout the region the firm also provided services to mines in the Marathon and Geraldton areas. They also frequently worked in the Kenora region, painting or providing drywall or acoustics to the  the hospital, Federal Building and many other spaces.

With a growing demand from their clients for painting and acoustics, MF Jones quickly grew to be a reliable provider of interior and exterior framing, drywall, painting and acoustics.
